Saga Edge is a local, on-premise data-capture solution built to collect and validate supply-chain events directly where operations occur. It handles high-speed event processing and short-term storage before sending data to a central Saga backend.

Organizations use Saga Edge when they need reliable, real-time data capture at manufacturing lines, warehouses, packaging centers, or inspection points. It ensures traceability even in environments with weak or inconsistent connectivity and reduces latency by processing data locally.

Saga Edge is not intended for long-term storage or large analytical workloads. Instead, it serves as the operational “front door” of traceability, capturing events, applying validation rules, and forwarding clean, structured EPCIS data to Enterprise or Mono, which act as the central repositories.

Saga Edge can capture most standard EPCIS event types, including commissioning, aggregation, shipping, receiving, de-aggregation, and process-step updates. It enables on-site serialization workflows, event verification, and operator-driven or automated data submission.

Yes. Saga Edge is designed for environments where network connectivity is unreliable. It continues to capture and temporarily store events locally and automatically synchronizes with the central Saga repository once it is online again.

Saga Edge connects seamlessly to Saga Enterprise or Saga Mono. Once data is validated locally, it is sent to the chosen backend for permanent storage, further processing, and sharing with partners or regulatory systems. It also integrates with Saga Mobile when mobile operators are part of the workflow.
